Where our sea moss comes from.
No vague origin stories. Our sea moss is grown in the ocean off St Lucia, sun-dried on the island, and prepared and batch-tested in Kent. Here's the whole journey.
Ocean-grown in St Lucia.
Our sea moss is grown on lines in the open Caribbean Sea off St Lucia by licensed local farmers. Growing on lines in moving ocean water — rather than in enclosed pools — means the moss develops in its natural mineral environment, fed by real seawater and sunlight.
The species is confirmed by supplier statement (Gracilaria or Eucheuma cottonii) and stated on each batch record. Sea moss has been traditionally used in Caribbean wellness routines for generations — we carry that heritage honestly, without overstating it.
Ocean-grown, not pool-grown.
A lot of sea moss on the market is cultivated in artificial pools or tanks. Pool-grown moss grows quickly in still, controlled water — but it doesn't develop in a natural seawater mineral environment, and is sometimes bulked with salt or other additives during processing.
Ours grows on lines in the open sea, harvested by hand by licensed farmers, then sun-dried naturally on the island — no artificial drying, no bulking agents.

After harvest, the moss is washed and sun-dried on St Lucia the traditional way before it travels to the UK. Sun-drying preserves the moss naturally and is how it has been prepared in the Caribbean for generations.
Prepared and batch-tested in Kent.
Every Oceanus Living product is prepared in Kent in a registered food production setting. Each batch is then sent to an independent UK laboratory for heavy-metals testing and iodine content analysis before any product is released for sale.
This is the part most sea moss brands skip. We don't.
