Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

This policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], trading as Oceanus Living ("we", "us"), collects and uses your personal data when you visit this website, buy from us or contact us. We are the data controller. Our trading address is Unit 29 Basepoint, Dartford DA1 5FS and you can reach us at info@oceanusliving.com.

What we collect

When you place an order we collect your name, email address, delivery address, order details and, for subscriptions, your renewal history. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor and are never seen or stored by us.

When you contact us, join the mailing list, submit a review or make a trade enquiry we collect the details you give us in that form, such as your name, email address, business name and message.

We also collect limited technical data automatically, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you view.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

To take and fulfil your order, manage subscriptions and provide customer support — necessary for performance of our contract with you.

To send marketing emails, including the first-order discount and product news — with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.

To keep accounting and food-business records, handle complaints and meet food-safety and consumer-law obligations — necessary for compliance with our legal obligations.

To keep the website secure, prevent fraud and understand how the site is used — necessary for our legitimate interests in running a safe, working shop.

Who we share it with

Stripe Payments Europe Ltd processes payments, subscriptions and the customer portal on our behalf. Stripe receives your name, email, billing address and payment details, and acts as controller for its own fraud-prevention and regulatory purposes. See stripe.com/gb/privacy.

Our email provider sends order confirmations, subscription reminders, review requests and marketing emails, and processes your name and email address for those purposes.

Base44 hosts this website and the order database on our behalf as our hosting processor.

Royal Mail and our courier partners receive the name, address and contact details needed to deliver your parcel.

Where any provider processes data outside the UK, that transfer is covered by the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard. We never sell your personal data.

Cookies and analytics

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep your basket and secure checkout working; these cannot be switched off. We also use limited analytics to count page views and understand which pages are useful, so we can improve the site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, though strictly necessary cookies are required for checkout to function.

How long we keep it

Order, payment and food-business records are kept for six years after the end of the relevant tax year, as required by UK tax and consumer law.

Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe, and for a short suppression period afterwards so we do not email you again by mistake.

Enquiry and contact messages are kept for two years. Reviews are kept for as long as they are published on the site.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access a copy of your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent to marketing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@oceanusliving.com. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF, on 0303 123 1113 or at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
